Skier Profile - Ian 'Clyde' Denman- MP1 Division
Clyde was born with cerebral palsy and skis in the MP1 division. He competed in the World Championships in Townsville in May 2007 and recently in the Nationals Championships in Woodford, Queensland. Clyde is a gutsy jumper and broke the MP1 Australian Record jumping a distance of 12.9 metres.
Clyde loves adrenalin sports, he has been no 3 in Australia in mud cart racing, raced cars and recently competed in speed water skiing at the Southern 80. Clyde started water skiing on a toboggan siting on a chair and stood up and the chair fell off and he stayed up.
Clyde is constantly re-designing and improving his equipment to enable him to ski to his potential. Clyde is a wood turner by trade, he has his heavy rigid licence and works full time.

Division: Mens MP1 (Multi-plegic level 1) uses sit ski. Athletes unable to utilise the majority of their trunk musculature and rise from their knees without arm support. They lack full use of their upper extremities. Typically, they do not have adequate grip strength and may utilise their forearms or wrists to hold the handle.
