Skier Profile - Jamie McDonald- Arm/Leg Division
Jamie suffered a cerebral hemorrhage (same effect as a stroke) when he was 22. This has resulted in muscle weakness and reduced coordination (mild paralysis & spasticity) of his left arm and leg. Jamie started skiing with friends after seeing an article in a boat magazine about a skier with a disability. Jamie has been competing at world level since 1997 and has held the No.1 position since then.
He is the current World Record Holder in Jump equalled tricks world record but does not hold it. He has also been very active on numerous Disabled Water Skiing Committees at National and State level, also mainstream (VWSA Council) and is still an IWSF (Disabled): Council Member. Jamie captained the Australian Team in 2007, leading them to second in the World.
