Skier Profile - Jason Sleep - MP2 Division

Jason was injured in a quad bike accident, hitting a tree and is now a paraplegic. He was a keen competition water skier prior to his accident, coming from a water skiing family. Jason’s sister was Australian Slalom champion. So it is understandable that he continues to ski. Jason loves skiing, he says it makes him feel normal and enjoys being out of his wheelchair. Jason recently broke the Australian slalom record in his category (MP2).

He is now aiming for the World record in Slalom. Jason was World Champion in the Slalom event at the World Championships in Townsville, 2007. Jason moved to a new home near Bridgewater in Victoria so that he could train every day. Jason’s wife and 2 daughters also ski with him and are very supportive. Jason is committed to the sport and spends a lot of his time training new skiers from around Australia. Jason competes in able-bodied tournaments in Victoria. Jason is sponsored by the National Bank and Skin, Ski & Surf.
